Music classes for toddlers and preschoolers held in Tiburon where children play real instruments like guitars and violins and learn about tempo and pitch while having fun.
Like a mommy and me class, parents and caregivers attend the classes with their child or children. Live guitar and piano in every class! Guest musicians too!
Music, instruments, songs, puppets, movement... all music programs are just about the same. Right? Think again!
Here's why Music makers is an octave above other music programs:
With music theory forming the backbeat to every activity, children anchor concepts through engaging rhythm, games and tactile materials.
Live piano and guitar are performed in every 45-minute class.
No other program offers your child more hands-on experience with a greater variety of instruments: from the familiar—drums, maracas, triangles—to the unusual—Orff xylophones and glockenspiels, zithers, and cellos.
Play side by side with talented guest musicians!
Children and adults attend together to enhance musical experience and learning for everyone.
Listen to sound samples from the class!

A NEW, FUN TWIST ON MUSIC THEORY Music Makers offers you and your child irresistible opportunities to grasp the elements of music—pitch, tempo, rhythm and more—in an environment where everyone feels invited to sing, play and learn. We draw from Orff, Kodaly and Dalcroze Eurhythmics theories of music education. We integrate music theory into a weekly theme that children can relate to—like trains, animals or rainbows— sparking imaginations, inspiring musical creativity and shaping our class games, songs and instrument play.
EXPLORE THE WORLD—THROUGH ITS MUSIC! Your child will venture across the globe by playing real instruments from multiple cultures: surdos from Brazil, talking drums from Africa, Celtic harps from Ireland, gongs from China, and many more.
LIVE GUITAR AND PIANO IN EVERY CLASS No one can resist singing and dancing to live music! Professional musicians perform live each week, sparking an energetic and spontaneous learning environment.

JAM WITH LIVE MUSICIANS! Talented professional guest musicians visit several times each session to demonstrate and play their instruments with the children. A steel drummer might play pans while children bang on steel drums and adults sing Calypso tunes. A flautist might bring flutes from around the world. It's a high note of the class!
A NOTEWORTHY INSTRUCTOR Music Makers founder, Cindy Cohen Levy, has made an indelible mark on the musical world of more than 4600 young children since 1986. Teacher of every class, Cindy is also an award-winning songwriter, singer, musician and producer of four popular CDs. Cindy continually improves Music Makers, and delights in improvising and writing new songs inspired by the children.
THE MUSIC MAKERS PROGRAM: AN IN DEPTH LOOK Music Makers is far more than a music-through-play program. It is a unique combination of teaching strategies and curricula providing young students with engaging opportunities to grasp the elements of music: pitch, tempo, rhythm, dynamics, duration, timbre, texture and form through developmentally appropriate and joyful activities for the young child. Classes are taught in a loving, cohesive and directed manner which allows children to explore their own creative statement in this enriched musical environment while activities and games provide an exciting springboard for success in the classroom.
Music Makers songs and activities engage children in sensory-motor integration, the fundamental ongoing process of early childhood. Music Makers classes lead children and adults from pure musical enjoyment to enhancement of musical skill development and and to an understanding of basic musical concepts in order to lay the foundation for further and more advanced study of music.

Music Makers provides young children with significant learning experiences to maximize and enrich their growth in the social, motor and cognitive areas of development. It provides many opportunities to develop and enhance self-esteem through music and meaningful play.
Music Makers was developed by Cindy Cohen over the past 19 years. The curriculum is dynamic and ever-growing to address the musical interests and questions of children and parents today, while framed in a context that is congruent with how children learn. Cindy continually improves and refines the program, and she delights in improvising and writing new songs as the children express their musical dreams and desires.
